Strategy, building and managing campaigns

Email marketing in Bermuda, to the customers you already have

Most businesses have a list of past customers and inquiries sitting in an inbox, a booking system or a spreadsheet, and never write to it. Those are the people most likely to buy again. I run email marketing as a monthly package: the plan, the template, the writing, the sending and a report of what people did next.

The problem

The list is there. Nobody writes to it.

A newsletter is easy to start and hard to keep going. The first one goes out, the second is late, and by the fourth month the list has gone quiet. Meanwhile the platform bill keeps arriving.

Email works when it is regular and useful. That takes a plan for the year, a template so each send does not start from nothing, and someone whose job it is to write, test and send it on the date it was due.

Monthly packages

Three packages. One campaign is two sends a month.

Each package is a fixed monthly fee with the scope written down. One email campaign is two sends a month, each written, designed in a reusable template, tested, sent and reported. Ask about pricing and the fees come back in writing, followed by a proposal. The email platform’s own fee is paid directly by you.

One campaign

Essential

Priority

Up to three campaigns, with real photography of your business.

  • Up to three campaigns, in email or across any channels
  • Real photo and video from a half-day shoot each quarter
  • One new landing page a quarter
  • Your existing automated emails kept running
  • One-page monthly report
Ask about Priority

Setup, one time. Covers setting up or reviewing your email platform in your name, importing and checking your list, the sending domain records that keep emails out of spam, the template design, and a plan for the first three months. A large list cleanup is quoted before anything starts.

Every package is month to month with 30 days’ notice. The ad and email accounts are set up in your business’s name, with you as the owner. You approve every ad and email before it goes out, with one round of changes. The first 90 days are for learning what works and improving it.

On Priority, the shoot and the new page begin after your third month.

What the work involves

From the plan to the report, every send looked after.

  • A plan for the yearWhat to send and when, around your busy and quiet seasons, written down.
  • Platform setup or reviewYour email platform set up in your business’s name, or the one you already use reviewed.
  • Sending domain recordsSPF, DKIM and DMARC set up so your emails arrive in the inbox rather than spam.
  • A reusable templateDesigned for your brand and tested on phones and the main email apps.
  • Writing and sendingEach email written, approved by you, tested and sent on the planned date.
  • A clean, legal listYour own customers and inquiries only, with an unsubscribe link on every send.
  • Sign-up formsA form on your site so new people can join the list.
  • Plain monthly reportingOpens, clicks, replies and unsubscribes, and what changes next month, on one page.

How it works

Start with the list you already have.

  1. A free review

I look at where your customer list lives, how big it is, what you have sent before and how it did. You get the findings in writing.

  2. Fees in writing, then a proposal

Ask about pricing and the package fees come back in writing. A proposal follows with the campaigns, a recommended spend, the terms and what is excluded. Nothing starts until you approve it in writing.

  3. Setup, then monthly care

The template and the first send are tested before anything goes to your list. Then the campaign runs to the plan, with a one-page report each month.

Who it is for

A good fit looks like this.

  • A Bermuda business with a list of past customers or inquiries it has never written to
  • Repeat business: restaurants, clinics, studios, retail, tourism and professional services
  • Something worth saying each month: an offer, a season, an event, advice
  • A newsletter that started and stopped

Not included

Listed here, and again on every proposal.

  • Bought or rented email lists, which are never used
  • The email platform’s own fee, paid directly by you
  • Large list cleanups, quoted separately
  • Guaranteed open rates or sales
  • Photography and video, except on Priority

The email platform account and the list are in your business’s name, with you as the owner. If we ever part ways, the list, the template and every send stay with you.

Questions businesses ask first

Before you start sending

What counts as one email campaign?

Two sends a month. Each send is written, designed in your reusable template, tested, sent and reported. Essential is one campaign; Standard can hold two; Priority up to three.

Can you buy a list of Bermuda email addresses for us?

No. Bought or rented lists are never used. They break the platforms’ rules, land in spam and damage your sending reputation. Email goes to your own customers and inquiries, who have a reason to hear from you.

Which email platform do you use?

The one you already pay for, if it does the job. If you do not have one, I set one up in your business’s name and recommend it in the proposal.

How much does email marketing cost?

The management is a monthly package at one of three levels, plus a one-time setup fee. The platform’s own fee is paid directly by you. Ask about pricing and the fees come back in writing.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. Packages are month to month with 30 days’ notice.
