Local SEO and Google Business Profile

Local SEO in Bermuda, so the people searching for you find you

On an island this size, a search for a local service usually ends at the map results and the first few listings. If your Google Business Profile shows the wrong hours, no photos and reviews nobody answered, the call goes to whichever business looks open. HamilTech's SEO services in Bermuda start there: the profile, the local search basics and the site, then content, reported monthly in plain language.

The problem

Search is where the decision happens, and a half-finished listing loses it.

The Google Business Profile was claimed years ago by someone who has left. The category is close but not right. The phone number on the website, the one on the profile and the one in the directory are three different numbers. The site has never been added to Search Console, and half the pages are titled "Home". None of it is complicated. It is just nobody's job.

The other common arrangement is an SEO retainer that sends a monthly report of rankings for phrases no one in Bermuda types. Local search here is a small pool: the searches that bring work in are few and specific, and they are worth getting exactly right. Local SEO in Bermuda is less about volume and more about being the complete, accurate, trusted answer to those few searches.

What the engagement includes

The being-found layer, looked after every month.

A monthly SEO engagement covers these eight items. How much of each happens in a given month depends on where the gaps are, and the monthly report says what was done.

  • Google Business ProfileClaimed and verified, with the right categories, services, hours, photos and posts, kept current.
  • Keyword strategyThe handful of searches that bring your kind of work in Bermuda, each mapped to the page that should answer it.
  • Local contentService pages and updates written for those searches, in plain language, not filler articles.
  • Technical SEOPage speed, indexing, titles, structured data, sitemaps and Google Search Console.
  • Consistent business detailsName, address and phone matched across the site, the profile and the directories that matter.
  • An honest review processA simple way to ask satisfied customers for Google reviews, and to answer the ones you get.
  • Paid search planning, where it fitsA written view on whether Google Ads are worth it for your business and at what budget.
  • Monthly reportingWhat changed, what moved, and what is next, in a page you can read in five minutes.

Where this has been done

Aloha Party Chef

Maui, Hawaii

Business
Private-chef service
Scope
Local SEO, Google Business Profile, keyword strategy, Google Ads, inquiry handling
Outcome
#1 on Google for “private chef Maui” and related searches
Pillar
Marketing

Digital marketing for a private-chef business whose clients search before they book: the local SEO, the Google Business Profile and the keyword strategy behind the site. It ranked #1 on Google for “private chef Maui” and a number of related searches.

A Google Ads campaign added a steady volume of inquiry submissions, and the way they were handled was reorganised so every lead that came in was answered and booked.

The same work applies in Bermuda, where the customer searching is often a visitor on a phone, or a resident comparing two or three options before calling one. See the full list of client work.

Pricing

A monthly engagement, sized to the gap and quoted first.

There is no fixed SEO package. After a conversation and a look at what someone searching actually sees, you get a written proposal with the monthly scope, the exclusions and the quote.

What shapes the monthly scope

  • How contested your category is in Bermuda search results
  • The number of services and locations the business covers
  • How much new content each month calls for
  • The condition of the website, and whether I built it or am working around it

How it works

Look first, then a plan, then the monthly work.

  1. A first look

I check the Google Business Profile, the website, Search Console if it exists, and the directory listings, and what someone searching in Bermuda actually sees. You get the findings in writing.

  2. A written proposal

The target searches, what gets fixed first, the monthly scope and the exclusions. Nothing starts until you approve it in writing.

  3. The monthly work

The profile and technical fixes first, then content and ongoing care, with a written report each month. The scope is reviewed against what the report shows, not kept on autopilot.

Who it is for

A good fit looks like this.

  • A Bermuda service business whose customers search before they call
  • A Google Business Profile exists, but nobody has touched it in a while
  • A website that works, or one being built at the same time
  • You can supply photos and answer questions about the services you offer
  • You are willing to ask happy customers for a review

Clinics, trades, professional practices, restaurants, and tourism and hospitality operators.

Not included in an SEO engagement

Listed here, and again on every proposal.

  • Ad spend, which is paid directly to Google or the platform
  • Social media management and posting
  • A new website, quoted separately as web design
  • Photography and video
  • Guaranteed rankings or positions, which nobody can honestly promise

No fake reviews, bought links or keyword-stuffed pages, ever. They put the whole profile at risk.

Questions businesses ask first

Before you start on SEO

How much does SEO cost in Bermuda?

It depends on how contested your category is, how many services the business covers, how much content the plan calls for, and the state of the website. HamilTech quotes every SEO engagement in writing after a conversation, so the monthly scope and the quote are agreed before any work starts. Get in touch and ask.

What is a Google Business Profile, and does my business need one?

A Google Business Profile is the free listing that appears in Google Maps and in the map results for local searches, with your hours, phone number, photos and reviews. For a business that serves customers in Bermuda, it is often seen before the website is, so yes, it is usually the first thing to get right.

How long does local SEO take to show results?

Corrections to a Google Business Profile, such as categories, hours and photos, are often reflected quickly. Ranking higher for competitive searches takes months of steady work, not weeks. The monthly report shows what changed so progress, or the lack of it, is visible either way.

Do you guarantee first-page rankings?

No. Google decides rankings, and anyone guaranteeing a position is either guessing or using methods that put your listing at risk. What I commit to is the work itself, written down in the proposal, and an honest monthly report on what it produced.

Do you manage social media?

No. Social media management is not a HamilTech service. Where paid search might make sense, the engagement can include a written view on whether Google Ads are worth it and at what budget, as was done for Aloha Party Chef.

Can you do SEO on a website you did not build?

Yes. Most of local SEO happens on the Google Business Profile and in the content, and most platforms allow the technical basics. If the current site's platform blocks something important, the first look says so in writing, along with what it would take to fix.
